Growth (Of music theory and facial hair)

Haiz, only today then I'm bothered to blog. Have actually visited the cybercafe numerous times during this period. Mostly is to chat and download new music and game trailers and such.

Finally moved into the room only to find that the air conditioner isn't working and I'm lazy to get it fixed cause there's a ceiling fan inside. Then again, it's not as fast as the one in the hall...

Despite such annoying little problems, I'm still enjoying myself here cause I'm learning more about music, in terms of theory and such.

Learning standard notation or 'towgay' is very much like learning a new language and can be quite enriching. After all, this system has been tried and tested by the 'Legends Of Old', meaning people like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin......You get the idea :D

Sheesh, today read up about standard notation in the college library. It's quite nutty man, so many rules to adhere to. Must practice till it becomes second nature...MUST!

Have been playing my guitar in a different way too, paying attention to the little details. Partly cause I've been following this book which I photocopied in it's entirety (PIRACY ALERT!). The name of the book is...John Petrucci's Rock Discipline haha. That guy's a real technical maniac. I want to up my technical ability, the theory side will be covered by my college course hehe.

On saturdays I head downtown to have fun at the arcade hehe. Last saturday I garnered 38 wins in 3 streaks there and made friends with this guy who's really friendly too.

On a side note, I've been growing my facial hair for fun and practising headbanging as well. A new metalhead will hit the road 4 years from now :D

Stranger in a strange land

This post is gonna be rather short man, just trying to update my blog while in a cybercafe. Brought my cable to save stuff into my mp3 player hehehe. I miss the convenience of just surfing net in the comfort of my nest. Haiz......

Talking about habitats, I'm now living in the hall of the condominium. Waiting for this Iranian guitarist to move out before I can move in. Have heard that he's damn good at playing. I wonder if he will leave his skill behind in the room for me to steal :D

The hall's great man, bigger than any of the 3 rooms. Also notoriously lacking in privacy. I haven't staged a concert and I'm already getting kissed by groupies all night long. Anywhere I'm exposed, they kiss. Sounds great huh? Wait till you realise they're bloodsuckers. And I mean that literally, not in the monetary sense. Guess I'm just too sweet...hehe

Well it's been great in a way too. There's this Vietnamese guitarist who's real friendly, and he's been playing guitar just a few months more than me, but he plays a lot better...should see how he plays 'Flight of the Bumblebee' man!

It's good to have guitar freaks under the same roof hehehe...

Well I'll be ending this post for now, gonna save the stuff I want into my Yepp.

Oh btw, those who need to know this already know but I'm just gonna make an announcement. I have accomplished my mission!!! Yeah baby, no more MI tune in my head...

The tides are a-turning

Yes! Today played my final match with Meyer and I WON!!! Scores are 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 (6). I was high for almost the entire match, except near the end when I kept letting Meyer convert my break points over and over. Was I furious about the stupid mistakes I made? You bet! I took a few pointers from Maria Sharapova and let my voice be heard a bit :D

Well anyway, lots of exciting play went on. A few quality rallies, no good serves (by me) and surprisingly better backhands than before (yes, by me).

Boy, did Meyer make me run man, he kept sending the balls to either side of the court, and I was making his job easier by returning most of the balls to the center hahaha.

We both had some amazing returns, usually winners which we found nigh impossible to return. For some reason Meyer's backhand has been suffering. Might be the new Babolat dampener he's got on his racquet hehe. Well anyway I won't be around to confirm my hypothesis for the next 3 months at least. Damn, am I gonna miss playing tennis with him.

I wonder if I would find a tennis partner in KL during this period...I think I'll bring my racquet along just in case I do hehe. I also wonder if they've got a TV inside the room plus cable socket yada yada yada. You know, modern essentials. Well the TV's not going to see much action unless I bring my PS2 along or they've got cable TV, more specifically...TENNIS TV!

Sigh, still unable to accomplish my mission...I think I'll ask for some help...
